My listening tastes grew a lot as I started to listen to a lot more musical styles. I am glad I didn't get Desert Moon earlier because I don't think I would have appreciated it as much when it was released. Some of the artists I recall getting a few albums from are Robert Plant, Split Enz, Tom Cochrane, Gowan, Elton John (Geffen albums), and Supertramp (without Roger). I built up my collection at that time with some great deals, buying a lot of albums I was curious about but didn't have the budget for. Next time we went, it would be another artist that you would end up finding a lot of their albums. It always seemed when we went there would be a ton of unopened albums by the same artist. It was the same purchase that I bought a few Styx solo albums, including GWG. Years later, I bought the album at the flea market for an excellent price. I thought it was fantastic and may have had a slow dance or two while it played. Desert Moon was in solid rotation on video. The club I went to with friends would play music and the occasional video. I must admit I liked the song Desert Moon, but tried not to. As I mentioned, I took sides after Kilroy and was firmly planted in the Shaw camp. At that time, even if I wasn't' College poor, I don't think I would have. Desert Moon, similar to Tommy Shaw's SWG, I heard a few tracks on the radio but didn't buy it.
